Wow, week 2 flew by! I'm really enjoying getting to know each of your kiddos, and watching their friendships within the class grow.
We had a busy week! We had our first library visit on Monday, as well as a guidance lesson from the counselor. We also had a fun week trying to hunt down our gingerbread men! We followed them to the cafeteria, office, nurse's office, counselor, computer/science labs..and finally to the library! This allowed us the opportunity to explore our school, as well as meet the 'helping adults' along the way. They were SO excited to FINALLY catch the gingerbread men, and we made a class graph describing which part everyone ate first (the head won, btw!).
We also began working in our math journals, and introduced our writing draft books for Writing Workshop. We spent a bit more time discussing our class and school rules, and learned how to work in partners for a math journal activity.
Thanks for returning the homework folders today. We will be sharing this week's homework on Tuesday, and I will make a class book with them to put in our library station.
The green Poetry folders came home today. Please remember to send these books back with your kiddo. We put these in our book box that we use for independent reading.
Library books and Poetry folders will be due back on Tuesday since we are out of school on Monday for Labor Day.
I hope everyone enjoys their three day weekend!
