Hi Parents-
Hope everyone enjoyed their three day weekend! We had staff development today, and I was able to share all the great things our class is doing with Project Lead the Way.
Last week was a busy, but fun one! I was bummed to miss the party, but heard it was so much fun. Thanks so much to all of you for making it a great one. Thanks again for the sweet Valentines and thoughts from each of your sweet kiddos! :)
We had the opportunity last week to interact virtually with a first grade classroom in San Antonio! Ms. Coons' (our ITS) mom is a first grade teacher, and we planned a "Mystery Number" Game with her class. Using Google Hangout, we gave each other 5 clues to help them use their number lines to identify our mystery number. They in turn did the same for us. It was SO much fun, and we really got to utilize the math skills we've been learning.
This week:
Language Arts:
HWT: lowercase 'r' and 'n'
Reading Workshop: Focus on the story elements in fairy tales
Writing Workshop: Responses to fairy tales, writing a beginning/middle/end
Word wall words/word family: -ob, saw, now
Math: Coins
Social Studies: Presidents
Technology: Seesaw, Mystory, Sight Words, Notes
** Please send in a baggie of coins (a variety, please) for your child to work with if you have not already done so. Please label with your child's name. These will be returned.**
Upcoming Dates:
- February 21st: Star Student: James
- February 24th: Schlitterbahn Reading Logs due
- February 24th: Parent Reader: Faye Cummings
