Hi Parents-
Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We had a great week in kindergarten!
The 100th day was a huge success! We made fruit loop necklaces with 100 fruit loops. We used the different colors to make groups of ten. We made a collage of a hundred items, wrote 100 words using resources around the room, made a snack with 100 items, and created cupcakes with 100 sprinkles. We also enjoyed comparing what 100 looks like using our collections. They are currently on display in the hall. We also made a huge pizza with 100 toppings after reading Little Red Hen Makes a Pizza. A class favorite was using the AgeMe app to take pictures that show what we will look like at 100 years old. This is one of my favorite celebrations, and I think I can say the same for the kiddos. Thanks so much for making this day a success with the donations, and wonderful 100 day clothing items!

Valentine's:
* Please remember to send a bag with handles (gift bags work great!) with your child's name written large enough for classmates to read by tomorrow 2/13.
* Students are encouraged to bring Valentines to pass out to classmates by 2/13 as well. (These will be passed out Tuesday morning.)
* Party end time correction: It ends at 12.
I will be attending a Project Lead the Way conference in Austin tomorrow and Tuesday. I am excited about these additional learning opportunities which I can use when we start Module 2 in a few weeks. I am also eager to help share what I learn with FBE colleagues who will be rolling out Module One at the end of the month. Since I attended the Lead Teacher Training back in September, our class was able to get started when the first module supplies were available back in January. I am very excited to share our experience with fellow teachers at our school, and help the rest of the classes begin their journey with PLTW.
Laura Davis will be subbing for me the next two days, and I left detailed lessons to cover everything as planned. She used to be a teacher, and is wonderful with kindergartners. I have no doubt they will love her! :)
Upcoming Dates:
2/13-2/17: Kindness Week (a flyer came home with fun daily themes for the kids to dress up with for school. Please let me know if you need another copy.)
2/13: PTA Meeting 6-8
2/14: Valentine Party 11:15-12:00
2/17: Science Expo
2/24: Waves of Schlitterbahn Reading Log Due
Thanks! Have a wonderful week!
