I hope everyone had a wonderful week, and a great Thanksgiving! Looking forward to seeing your kiddos tomorrow!

Eva will be the Star Student this upcoming week, and we are excited to learn more about her!

Thanksgiving lunch was a success, and your little 'turkeys' looked adorable in their hats! They worked hard on the placemats, and were excited to take them home.

We explored capacity in math, and the kiddos had a blast using macaroni noodles to fill different sized containers and make comparisons. We learned about water in science, and it's many uses. Your little ones are really coming along in their writing! We've started dictation sentences, and are really working hard on using spaces and writing a full sentence. We've also been focusing on using our lined handwriting paper, and the correct formation of letters.

Thanks so much for reading with your child when they bring home their red reading folders! It makes such a HUGE impact on their reading growth! They have already come a long way since the beginning of the year, and your partnership has made it happen!

Important Dates:
Dec 2- Early release at 12:45
Dec 3- Kindergarten Holiday Program @ 6:00 pm
Dec 4- PTA Family Fun Dance Party 6:15-8:15 pm

Reminders:
- Library books and green poetry folders are due tomorrow.
- Red reading folders go home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Wish List Request:
Our class would be very grateful for clipboards. We do a lot of partner work activities away from our desks, and it would be super helpful for the kiddos to have clipboards to be able to use to record their work. We appreciate it!

Thanks for all your support! Hard to believe we only have three weeks until the winter vacation! Looking forward to a fantastic week!

Hi Parents!
What a great week in kindergarten! Hard to believe we are half way through November!

Adam was our Star Student, and we enjoyed learning more about him. Eva is next during the week of November 30th.

We had a great time using magnifying glasses to explore dirt and sand! We learned about weight in math, and worked in partners using a balance scale. In Social Studies, we used the book Going on a Bear Hunt to explore landforms and relative location.

This week:
Math: Capacity
LA: Sight words we, all, and are. HWT letters z and c. Thanksgiving writing and story comprehension activities, and reading strategy 'stretchy snake'.
Science: Water
Social Studies: Thanksgiving

Wish List Request:
Our class would be very grateful for clipboards. We do a lot of partner work activities away from our desks, and it would be super helpful for the kiddos to have clipboards to be able to use to record their work. We appreciate it!

Upcoming Dates:
- Thursday, November 19th: Thanksgiving lunch
- November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break
- Wednesday, December 2nd: Early Release at 12:45

What a fun, and busy, week we had!!

Elaina was our Star Student, and we enjoyed learning more about her! Adam will be our Star Student this upcoming week.

We had a wonderful time voting on Election Day. We had voter's registration cards, as well as a kindergarten voting booth. We voted as a grade level on our spirit day next Friday...the choices were PJ's, crazy socks, and crazy hats. PJ's won by a landslide. Our class was in charge of counting the ballots, and they had a blast!

50's day to honor the 50th day of school was a hit! We had activities up to the number 50 all day, and ended with a Sock Hop. The stations were limbo, hula hoops, and dancing. It was SO much fun! Thanks so much for the donations and volunteers!

Our rock unit was a blast! Thanks so much for sending rocks into our class. We sorted in groups by color/shape/size/texture, and any other ways the kiddos brainstormed to sort. We also had the rocks that were brought in set up for the kiddos to explore and compare. I think it's safe to say the kids LOVED this unit!

Your kiddos were super flexible with the cancellation of Field Day. We played rhyming bingo, had an extra round of Literacy Stations and Free Choice centers, had movement to music...and had a Watch Dog Dad visit our class! Thanks so much to Mr. Deery (Sophia's Dad) for joining us! The class loved having a visiting dad, and enjoyed story time with him!

Our class also won our FIRST golden award! These are announced every Friday. They are in the categories of hallway behavior, lunchroom behavior, and library behavior among all grade levels. We won the library award! The kids were soooo excited to hear our class announced, and I was, too! So proud of them! :)

Important Dates:
- This week is the Scholastic Book Fair in the library.
- November 23-27: Thanksgiving Break
- December 2: Early Release at 12:45

Reminders:
- Please return the report card envelopes with your signature. You may keep the report card.
- Green poetry folders are due tomorrow.
- We will not have library tomorrow due to the book fair.

Thanks for all your support at home, and your partnership in your child's education. They are learning SO much!

Have a great week!

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween weekend! :)

We are looking forward to having Elaina as our Star Student this upcoming week.

We had a fun week studying the pumpkins sent in (thank you for contributing!), and will continue to use them in a few of our upcoming lessons.

Thank you for the get well messages! The kiddos worked really hard with the substitute, and had lots of welcome back hugs for me on Friday.

Reminders:
- Tomorrow is library day, so please send in your child's library book.
- Green poetry folders are due tomorrow.
- Tuesday folders will go home on Friday due to report cards coming home that day.
- Wednesday is our 50th day of school celebration. Please send your child in 50's attire.
- Friday is Field Day. Please have your child wear their Kindergarten shirt.
- Please send a light jacket to school. We have an early recess, and often times it is a bit chilly.
- The red Reading folders will be coming home on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Thank you for all the coins for the Coins for Coats program. They have not announced the kindergarten winner, but I'm very proud of all the coins our class brought in for a great cause!

Thank you for all your support and help at home! The growth I've seen in your little ones already shows just how dedicated they are to learning!

Looking forward to a great week! :)
