Hope everyone had a great weekend! :)
Last week our Star Student was Cole, and we enjoyed learning more about him! This week is Ingrid.
Our class won the Track Attack award at PE last week! They even earned the treasure box from Mr. Thompson as a whole class for working so hard in PE all week!
Last week in Math we reviewed addition and subtraction. We used manipulatives to work out story problems, and discussed the words that gave us clues about whether we were adding or subtracting. We also continued to discuss the steps and strategies for solving a word problem.
In science we discussed the life cycle of a plant. We planted our own seeds in the classroom. We are also having a Great Seed Race with three different types of seeds, and tracking their growth. We used the digital microscope to explore the inside of a lima been seed that had been soaked in water overnight. They then compared/explored a dry and wet lima bean seed on their own. They LOVED it! We continued to discuss the plant needs, and their parts/uses.
In Language Arts we discussed sequencing and understanding a character's emotions. The word family was -ack and the word wall word was 'love'. In Writing, we continued learning the writing process and working towards our individual writing goals that we set.
